How do I choose the right pool table for me?
Our table Pool Table models are separated into three main categories;
1 – Coin Operated Pool Tables – All models within this category are fitted with coin mechanisms, either manual or electronic, that allow you to set the price of play per game.
2 – Freeplay Pool Tables – Tables within this category are not fitted with a coin mechanism and allow for continuous play without having to pay for a new game each time. The balls on these tables are returned to the end of the table after each ball is potted.
3 – Pool Dining Tables – All pool dining tables are fitted with a two-piece dining top that fits flush to the top of the pool table. Dining tops for these tables are finished to the same colour as the pool table body.
As with the Freeplay Pool Tables within this category are not fitted with a coin mechanism and allow for continuous play without having to pay for a new game each time. The balls on these tables are returned to the end of the table after each ball is potted.
Within each of the above categories, we have models of pool tables that are specially made from materials that allow for outdoor use.
Why are some tables more expensive than others?
All of our pool tables are constructed to the same high standards, using a quality slate bed to ensure that every one of our pool tables has a consistent, long-lasting even playing surface.
You will notice the varying prices of our tables and will probably want to know why some are more expensive than others. Simply put, the reasons for this is due to the different features that each of our table models has.
For example, certain models will have a coin mechanism fitted, others will have a solid wood turned leg while others will have a moulded plastic leg or even metal legs. In the case of the Outdoor Pool Tables, these are constructed from specially treated marine plywood so they are built to withstand the elements.
In short, the varying prices of our pool tables are by no means a reflection of inferior or superior quality, it is more a reflection of the time taken to build in certain features or to account for the varying costs of the materials used to construct the different models.
Where will you be using the pool table?
Other than your budget, this is one of the most important factors to take into account when deciding which table is best for you.
At Home – Indoors or Outdoors
If you are looking to purchase a pool table for home use it is unlikely that you will need it to be fitted with a coin mechanism. Unless you want to keep a strict regulation on who can play and how often the table can be used.
It is also safe to say that if the table is to kept and used indoors you can rule out the need for an Outdoor Table.
The remaining factors to take into account then are; how much space do you have for a pool table and do you have a preference on the style?
If you are short on space, you may consider a Pool Dining Table, these models double up as both a fully functioning dining table and pool table.
If you want your pool table to fit in with your home surroundings and you want it to be a particular style then you will want to take the time to look at the varying styles of the Freeplay and Pool Dining Tables that we have on offer.
For pool tables suitable for outdoor use, see our Outdoor Pool Tables selection, available in both Freeplay and Coin Operated models.
Commercial Settings – Indoors or Outdoors
If you are purchasing a pool table for a pub, club or hotel or any other establishment where you want people to ‘pay to play’ then it is likely that you will want to look through our Coin Operated Pool Tables selection.
When deciding which Coin Operated Pool Table is most suitable for you, you will need to decide if the table is to be used indoors or outdoors. Once you’ve decided where the pool table is to be used and stored, then this will narrow down your choice further to a question of ‘what style’ of pool table you are after.
Take a look through our Coin Operated Pool Tables to find out which style of table meets your requirements of what you want your table to look like. From the traditionally styled Ascot Pool Table, through to the more modern looking Omega and Fusion Pool Tables, the varying colours available for each model means that you are sure to find something to suit your taste.
For pool tables suitable for outdoor use, see our Outdoor Pool Tables selection, available in both Freeplay and Coin Operated models.
