A simple tip, easy to remember but commonly not adhered to is the art of shooting through the cue ball when taking your shots.
One quick fire way to start hitting your shots badly is by raising up or pulling away to early after you strike the cue ball.
One quick fire way to remedy this and start playing shots well is to play that imaginary line that runs through the cue ball and follow through with the shot after the initial cue/cue ball contact is made.
